Custom Outdoor Daybed Covers

custom outdoor daybed cover built to measure

What This Is

An outdoor daybed cover built to your measurements — cut to the exact width, depth, and height of your daybed, not a size category it roughly falls into. Outdoor daybeds come in more shapes than any generic cover accounts for. Rectangle, round, L-shaped, corner sectional — each one is a different footprint that an S/M/L cover will never sit flat on.

Kuvr makes each outdoor daybed cover to the dimensions you supply. Width, depth, and height from your actual daybed — not an average of the category. Send us your measurements and we cut the cover to that daybed. Outdoor round daybed covers are made the same way: diameter and height off your unit, cut to that circle, not a square cover thrown over it.

Every cover ships with our First Time Fit Guarantee. This is part of our range of custom garden furniture covers — made the same way, to the same standard. Want to understand the process before ordering? Read how our custom covers work from measurement to delivery.

Why Outdoor Daybed Covers Need to Be Made to Measure

Search outdoor daybed cover and every result is a bag of sizes: Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large. Nobody defines what those sizes mean. One brand's Large is another brand's Medium. None of them were measured against your daybed.

A cover cut too large pools rain on the fabric. Standing water weighs down the centre, stretches the material, and keeps cushions damp for days at a time. A cover cut too small refuses to fasten or pulls taut across the arms — splitting at the seams within a season.

Outdoor round daybeds make the fit problem worse. A round daybed is not close to round once you account for the canopy post, the base platform, and extended bolsters. A square cover thrown over a round daybed leaves two opposite corners hanging open — and the direction the weather arrives from is always the wrong corner. A proper outdoor round daybed cover is cut in a circle from the actual diameter of your unit, not squared off to clear the frame.

L-shaped and corner daybeds are the most poorly served of all. No off-the-shelf outdoor daybed cover accounts for the angled joint, the different depths on each arm, or the way the platform extends at the corner. Owners of L-shaped daybeds typically end up using two covers overlapped — each one still not fitting right — or leave the daybed uncovered entirely.

Made-to-measure solves this. Not approximately right. Not close enough. Cut to your exact footprint, from your dimensions, to fit that daybed.

What an Outdoor Daybed Cover Protects Against

Cushion & Fabric Damage

Daybed cushions are the most expensive part of the unit and the first to show damage. Direct sun bleaches upholstery fabric and dries out the foam beneath. Prolonged damp causes foam to break down from the inside. Replacement cushion sets cost more than a cover made to fit — and they are often discontinued by the time you need them.

UV Damage

Wicker, rattan, and synthetic resin all fade and become brittle under sustained UV. Metal frames oxidise faster where their protective coating has chalked off. Outdoor upholstery fabric fades from deep, bold colour to washed-out within two summers without UV protection. A cover rated for outdoor UV exposure stops this from happening — and it cannot be undone once it has.

Rain & Moisture

Rain that pools on a loose cover presses moisture through to the cushion beneath. A cover cut to fit drains at the edges — water runs off the surface instead of through it. Waterproof outdoor-grade fabric with HydroLok® sealed seams means rain falls on the cover, not on what is underneath it. Integrated air vents let trapped moisture escape rather than sitting against the cushion.

Mould & Mildew

An ill-fitting cover traps damp air against the cushion without letting it escape. Warm, still, humid air — exactly what develops under a cover that does not sit flat — is what mould needs. Mould in cushion foam does not wash out. It works through the material, leaves a persistent smell, and usually means replacing the cushion entirely. A properly fitted cover with ventilation prevents it from starting.

Pest Nesting

A gap at the base of an oversized cover is an open invitation. Spiders, wasps, and other insects move into the cushion folds and the space between cushion and frame. Rodents use loose fabric as nesting material and chew through upholstery to get at the foam beneath. A cover that closes at the hem with an elasticated perimeter leaves no gap to move into.

Surface Staining

Bird fouling etches into outdoor upholstery within hours in direct sun. Leaves and organic matter in contact with cushion fabric stain and rot the fibres over time. Tree sap bonds to wicker and synthetic resin frames and cannot be removed without damaging the surface beneath. A cover stops all of this from reaching the daybed before any of it can take hold.

Rectangle outdoor daybed cover — custom cut to the exact width and depth of a patio daybed

Which Shape Outdoor Daybed Cover Do You Need?

Most outdoor daybeds fall into one of four footprints. We cut to all of them — from your exact measurements, not a category average.

Rectangle Outdoor Daybed Covers

A rectangle outdoor daybed cover is the most common request — and still requires exact dimensions to work properly. Daybeds in the same range from the same manufacturer often vary by 10 to 20 centimetres between models. An S/M/L cover sized to a category average will be too large for some and too small for others in that same range. We cut to your measurements — the exact width, depth, and height of your daybed, not the nearest standard size. Give us the three measurements and we build to that footprint.

Round Outdoor Daybed Covers

An outdoor round daybed cover needs to be cut in a circle — not a square or rectangle draped over the unit with corners bunched up underneath. Give us the diameter at the widest point of your round daybed and we build to that measurement. Round hanging daybeds, pod chairs, and round floor daybeds all have different profiles and post positions. If your unit has a canopy post or suspension frame, tell us and we account for it in the cut. No guessing, no bodging with a square cover folded at the edges.

L-Shaped Outdoor Daybed Covers

An L-shaped outdoor daybed cover has to follow the actual L — no off-the-shelf version does this. We cut the cover to your left-arm and right-arm dimensions separately: the length and depth of each section, the height at the back, and the joint at the corner. Every L-shape is a different L. Length of each run, width of each section, height of the back and arms — all of it comes from your unit, not an approximation of what an L-shaped daybed typically looks like.

Corner Outdoor Daybed Covers

Corner daybeds — wider than a standard sofa, deeper on both sides, with a platform that extends at the joint — are the unit most difficult to cover with anything generic. We make corner outdoor daybed covers to the exact footprint of your unit: overall width, overall depth, the depth of each section, and the height at the back. Send us the measurements and we build to that corner, precisely. Not approximately. Not to the nearest standard rectangle that might span it.

What Happens to an Uncovered Outdoor Daybed

An outdoor daybed stored without a fitted cover loses value measurably faster than one kept under a cover cut to fit. Cushions fade in the first season. Frames chalk and pit where coating has gone. Mould sets in the foam before winter. Here is what that looks like in practice:

Outdoor daybed cushion damage from sun and moisture — fabric fading and foam breakdown without a cover

Cushion & Fabric Damage

UV damage to an outdoor patio daybed without a cover — sun bleaching on fabric and frame

UV Damage

Rain and moisture pooling on an uncovered outdoor daybed — water saturation on cushions

Rain & Moisture

Mould and mildew on outdoor daybed cushions left uncovered over winter

Mould & Mildew

Pest nesting in an uncovered outdoor daybed — insects in cushion folds and frame gaps

How This Outdoor Daybed Cover Is Different

  • 01

Cut to Your Exact Dimensions — Not a Size Category

Width, depth, and height from your actual daybed. Rectangle, round, L-shaped, and corner — we cut to the real footprint you supply, not the nearest standard size. No two custom outdoor daybed covers from Kuvr are the same, because no two daybeds are the same. Measurements matter even within the same product range: daybeds from the same manufacturer often vary between 10 and 20 centimetres across the same model line. We send you a design drawing to approve before anything is cut, so you can confirm the fit on paper before we start production.

Waterproof Outdoor-Grade Fabric, Sealed at Every Seam

Two fabric options: NylonSafe® (a waterproof outdoor fabric for home and light commercial use) and PVCArmour® (a heavy-duty waterproof fabric for high-exposure environments and year-round outdoor storage). Both use HydroLok® heat-sealed seaming — water cannot enter through the seam lines, which is where most covers fail first. Integrated air vents let trapped moisture escape so damp air does not sit against the cushion beneath. UV-stabilised throughout and rated for outdoor use in all weather, including coastal environments. Full fabric specifications at kuvr.co/pages/fabrics-shaped-covers.

Stays On in Wind — Elasticated Hem and Tie-Down Points

An elasticated hem runs the full perimeter of the base, gripping the underside of the frame. Additional tie-down points anchor the cover at the corners and along the base. A cover cut to your exact footprint leaves no loose fabric for wind to catch. No flapping. No lifting at the corners. No pooling in the slack. It stays put in the conditions your outdoor daybed actually faces — not just on a still day in the showroom.

    Made Once. Protects for Years.

Reinforced at every stress point — the hem, the corners, and the tie-down anchor points. A custom outdoor daybed cover made to your exact dimensions does not need replacing each season. Construction handles sustained UV, rain, wind load, and years of outdoor storage without degrading. Cost per year of use is lower than a series of generic covers that fail, stretch, and get replaced. Buy it once and it protects for as long as you own the daybed.

When You Need a Custom Outdoor Daybed Cover

Not everyone needs this. Here is how to tell which side you are on.

Focused on Longevity

This cover is right for you if:

Your outdoor daybed lives outside — on a patio, by a pool, or in a garden — and takes full weather exposure when you are not using it. Cushions are not brought inside between uses.

Your daybed is an unusual shape — round, L-shaped, corner, or an oversized rectangle that generic covers simply do not reach. A standard cover either will not fit or does not fit well enough to protect anything.

You have tried a generic outdoor daybed cover already and it pooled rain on the fabric, stayed damp underneath, lifted in a light wind, or split at the seams inside a season. You want something that actually works.

You invested good money in the daybed itself and you want it performing and looking the same way in five years that it does today. A custom outdoor daybed cover is the thing that makes that possible.

Focused on Immediacy

You don't need this if:

Your daybed is kept under a covered structure — a pergola, loggia, or veranda — and does not take direct rain or sustained sun through the day.

Cushions are stored inside every time the daybed is not in use, so only the frame needs any protection.

You need something shipped today and fit does not matter to you.

You replace a cheap universal cover every season and are satisfied with that arrangement.
