What This Is
A custom garden swing seat cover is a waterproof cover made from one swing's own measurements, and it goes over all of it: canopy, frame and seat.
A garden swing is usually the heaviest thing on the lawn. It is too big for the shed and too much bother to take apart every autumn, so it stays out all winter. Whatever goes over it has to do the job of a roof.
Because they are sold by seat count, and a seat count is not a size.
One retailer's '3 seater' swing seat cover is 210 × 125 × 170 cm, offered for any swing with three seats. But the size of a canopy swing is set by its frame. The legs splay out well past the seat at ground level, and the canopy sits highest of all.
Swings from different makers rarely share a frame, even with the same number of seats. So the same box is tight on one and baggy on the next.
A tight one stops short of the feet. A baggy one fills with rain on top and flaps until a seam gives. Three seats tells you how many people sit on it, not what it measures.
What Does a Garden Swing Cover Protect Against?
A garden swing cover keeps sun, rain, mould, rust, wind and birds off the canopy, the cushions and the frame. On a bare swing the canopy takes the weather first, because it is the highest and widest part.

The canopy faces the sky all day. Its fabric fades along the top first, then goes thin and brittle until it splits at the folds.
Rain in the Seat
Rain runs off the canopy edge and onto the seat below. Cushions soak it up, and water sitting in a sagging canopy stretches the fabric a little further each time.
Mould on the Cushions
Cushions left out stay damp from one shower to the next. Black mould spreads along the seams and the underside, where nobody looks until spring.
Rust at the Hangers
The seat hangs from the top bar on springs, hooks or chains. That is where rust starts, and it runs down onto the painted frame in orange streaks.
Wind on a Bare Frame
The canopy catches the wind. A gust swings the seat into the frame, and a top-heavy swing on an open lawn can go over in a storm.
Birds on the Top Bar
Birds perch on the top bar and along the canopy edge. Whatever they drop lands on the cushions underneath and bakes on when the sun comes back out.

Canopy Swing
An A-frame with a canopy on top and a 2 or 3 seater bench hung beneath it. It is covered from the top of the canopy down to the feet. If your canopy tilts, measure it in the position you want covered.
Porch Swing (Flat Back)
A bench with a straight back and arms, hung on chains from a ceiling or a beam. There is no frame around it, so we make the cover to fit the bench itself. The guide also asks where the chains attach and how far apart they are.
Porch Swing (Roll Back)
A bench whose slatted back curves over at the top, hung on chains from both arms. Its guide takes the chain fixings front to back and the gap between the chains side to side, as well as the arms and back.
What Happens to an Uncovered Garden Swing?
On a bare swing, most of the damage happens at the top and the bottom: the canopy above, and the cushions and fixings below.

Waterproof Down to the Seams
Every seam is a HydroLok® sealed seam: stitched, then sealed on the inside so rain cannot get through the seam lines. The fabric is just as waterproof. Tied Down Where It Counts
The standard tie-down is a drawstring hem. It pulls in round the feet of the frame, or under the seat on a porch swing, so the wind has no loose edge to get under. On an open lawn or a hilltop garden, pick a stronger tie-down. With eyelets you can tie the cover to something solid, and snap buckles clip it round the legs.

Will this cover fit my garden swing?
Yes. We make it from your swing's own measurements, not to a seat count on a packet. Every order is reviewed either way: we look at your measurements and any photos you send, and check anything that does not add up with you.
What if my swing is not one of the shapes listed?

Does the cover go over the canopy?
Yes. On a canopy swing the cover goes over the whole frame, canopy included, and down to the feet. If your canopy tilts, set it where you want it and measure the swing like that. The measuring guide shows each measurement for your shape.
Are your swing seat covers waterproof?
Yes. The fabric and the seams are both 100% waterproof, not just shower-resistant. Every seam is a HydroLok® sealed seam: stitched, then sealed on the inside so water cannot get through the seam lines. NylonSafe® is 380gsm 420D nylon for home and light commercial use; PVCArmour® is 550gsm 1000D PVC for exposed sites and commercial use. Compare the fabrics.
Will the cover stay on in a strong wind?
Yes. The standard tie-down is a drawstring hem, pulled tight round the frame once the cover is on. In an exposed garden, a stronger tie-down holds it more firmly: eyelets let you tie it down to something solid, and snap buckles clip it round the frame legs.
Can I leave the cushions on the swing?
Yes, if that is how you want it covered. Measure the swing with the cushions on or off, and we make the cover to suit. Only cover cushions that are dry: a cover keeps rain out, but it cannot dry a cushion that is already wet.
Will damp build up under the cover?
A fitted cover cuts damp right down. Every shaped cover has built-in airflow vents that let moist air out but keep rain from coming in. No outdoor cover can rule condensation out altogether: it can still form if the swing goes under wet, or on a night when the temperature drops sharply. More on condensation and airflow.
How long will a swing seat cover last?
Each fabric carries its own warranty. NylonSafe®, our waterproof fabric for home and light commercial use, is covered for 3 years. PVCArmour®, the heavy-duty fabric for exposed and commercial sites, is covered for 5. The KuvrPlus warranty extension raises them to 5 and 10 years. The warranty page has the full terms.

We bought these clear tarpaulins to enclose our open terrace area, and they have been a great addition to the house.
The clear plastic lets in plenty of light, so it doesn't feel dark or boxed in. The zipped door in the middle is super handy for walking in and out without taking everything down.
Looking out in the morning, it makes a huge difference. It traps the overnight warmth and blocks early morning chills, making the space warm enough to sit out in comfortably.
They do a brilliant job of stopping wind and rain, keeping the whole terrace dry and draft-free.
Our outdoor sofa, cushions, and artificial grass stay completely dry, so we don't have to drag everything inside when it rains.
It also gives us an extra sheltered spot to sit outside with the lights on, even in bad weather.
Not only are these covers fantastic. I purchased 3 covers for my very spoilt rabbit to keep her cosy over the cold winter months. I have to say the customer service from this company is 1st class. We have two of the covers, one at each end of the veranda. They fitted well and I have attached them to the wall to prevent them from blowing too much in the wind. They are clear so we can still see out into the garden. Unfortunately you cannot see the far end cover as out rather overgrown Kentia palm is in the way. If anyone would like to buy it please let me know, that’s the palm!
Initial placement of order a problem quickly resolved by the firm. Have been needing a hot tub cap for sometime as the insulated top allowed rainwater to flow. Nothing available locally (Cyprus), found the firm via internet search. As expected shipping and customs clearance took some time with transit via France and Italy but courier was the first delivery to my house door in a small village, usually I have to collect. As for the item, at first look delighted. Robust with sealed seams and drawstring to prevent wind disturbance. Waiting patiently to confirm, as I expect, the cap is waterproof, also looks great as can be seen in the picture. Thanks.

Made to measure cover for the wall of our Bike Port. The wall is full of holes and loose stones that fall on my bike. Does the job of keeping the wind out and my bike clean and dry. Good quality thick material. Delivered quickly.

Initially I purchased some plastic sheets from Amazon, put the up and thought 'job done'. The sheets became discoloured, they constantly made a noise as they blew around and in the end they just tore apart. I then decided to do the job properly by looking into professional custom covers. Exactly what I wanted, I'm very pleased with the clear screens and the customer support is some of best I ever come across.
The screens were a bit creased when I unpacked them but as soon as they warmed up in the house the creased disappeared. The day I put them up was a bit cold and they were a bit awkward to line up. Luckily the sun came out which made the job went a lot easier. There has been a couple of really windy days since fitting and they stood up to it very well.
