A custom Big Green Egg cover is a made-to-measure waterproof cover cut to the exact shape of your EGG and whatever it sits in. A ceramic kamado spends most of its life outside and cold. Days between cooks. Whole months over winter.
Big Green Eggs come in a range of different sizes. What they sit in follows no standard at all. A nest handler changes the shape you are covering. EGG Mates change it again. A custom-built timber table changes it completely. No standard-size cover can follow all of that.

Big Green Egg’s own covers are lettered, and each letter has to stretch across more than one EGG. Cover A is listed for 2XL, XL and Large. Cover H for Medium, Small and MiniMax. Own the smallest of the three and your cover was cut for the biggest.
That is what happens when one cover has to fit three different EGGs. Something has to give, and it is the fit.
Slack matters more on an EGG than on a square grill. The widest point is the middle of the dome, not the base, so a loose cover has nothing to grip below it. It lifts in wind. It holds water where it sags. Add EGG Mates and the footprint changes again.
Six kinds of damage, and every one of them comes from an EGG left standing out between cooks.
Bird fouling etches into the glaze and tree sap bonds to it. Rust bleeds down from the metal cap and marks the dome beneath. None of it washes off.
A kamado is a sealed ceramic chamber. Close the dome on a wet EGG and the moisture stays against the ironwork for weeks. Airflow vents let it move without letting rain in.
Damp and cooking residue grow mould across the inside of the dome. Outside, moss takes hold in the felt gasket. Neither happens in a week.
The ceramic is not the vulnerable part. The fire ring, charcoal grate, bands, hinge and cast iron top all corrode. The top vent seizes first.
Water held in a timber table or an open nest frame freezes and expands. Joints open, slats lift, fixings work loose.
Acacia and mahogany silver and split long before a glazed dome shows its age. On a table build, the timber is what the cover is really protecting.
The hardest of the five, and the one nothing off the shelf fits. Tables come in acacia, mahogany and cypress, and plenty of owners build their own. The cover rises over a round dome then runs square across the tabletop. Get that transition wrong and it tents across the gap.
Angled EGG Mates change the footprint on both sides. We measure the width of each one separately, plus the depth and the distance between the front corners. The two sides are rarely identical once fitted. EGG Mates fold down, and we cut the cover either way — up or folded. Measure them in the position you will actually leave them in.
Straight EGG Mates give a squarer profile, and a cover cut for one will not sit properly on the other. Same EGG, same nest underneath. The difference is entirely in the wings. These fold down too, and we cut for either state — measure them as you will leave them.
Without EGG Mates the profile narrows sharply below the dome. The nest is an open frame on castors, so nothing solid stops wind getting underneath. We take the width and depth between the wheels as well as the overall size, so the hem draws in under the frame.
The bare EGG on the ground or a stand of your own. We measure the diameter at its widest point as its own dimension, because that is what everything else has to clear.

Airflow vents are standard. Rain gets into an EGG through the top and bottom vents, and a cover with no way for that moisture to escape holds it against the ironwork. The vents let it move. See the built-in features.
A nest sits on castors with clear air beneath it. A drawstring hem draws the cover in under the frame, and snap buckles hold it there on an exposed site.

Initially I purchased some plastic sheets from Amazon, put the up and thought 'job done'. Exactly what I wanted, I'm very pleased with the clear screens and the customer support is some of best I ever come across. The screens were a bit creased when I unpacked them but as soon as they warmed up in the house the creased disappeared. The day I put them up was a bit cold and they were a bit awkward to line up. Luckily the sun came out which made the job went a lot easier. There has been a couple of really windy days since fitting and they stood up to it very well.

After trying a local company, I decided to search the "net" and came across your site. The dimensions I gave you and the expected cover picture was enought to make my mind up. Your product is I would say 4 times better than my local company. They could not guarantee durability or waterproofing either. Having got my cover from yourselves I was very pleased with the quality, really strong material and very waterproof. Having it slightly oversize negates the problem of having to struggle fitting it. The old cover that came with the furniture would lift up in even mild winds, not so with this one. Althtough I have 3 bungee cords across it, it shows no sign of movement.
