What This Is
A custom Adirondack chair cover is a waterproof cover cut to the exact shape of your own chair. The pattern follows the wide flat arms, the raked back and the sloping seat. Adirondack chair covers are made one at a time, from the measurements you send. There is no small, medium or large to pick between.
Adirondack chairs are not one shape. Wide flat arms, a tall fanned back, a seat that drops toward the ground. Every maker builds them a little differently, so a cover that fits one will not fit the next.
Cedar, teak, pine, painted timber or poly-lumber, these chairs live outdoors all year, on decks, porches, lawns and lakeside docks. If you need covers for a whole outdoor set instead, see our made to measure outdoor furniture covers.
Why Do Universal Adirondack Chair Covers Never Fit Right?
Because the chair is widest in its middle. The arms are the widest part of an Adirondack, about halfway up. Almost everything else outdoors is widest at the base.
So universal covers are cut narrow at the top and wide at the bottom. That is upside down for this chair. The cover fouls on the arms going on, then rides up and leaves the legs bare.
Then there is the size spread. Polywood puts its own Adirondack range at 34 to 44 inches tall, 24 to 33 inches wide and 24 to 38 inches deep. That is a ten-inch spread in every direction, across chairs all sold under the same name. Universal covers come in about two sizes.
What Does an Adirondack Chair Cover Protect Against?
Water In The Seat
An Adirondack seat slopes down toward the back. Rain runs to the bottom of that slope and sits there. A cover shaped to your chair sheds it instead.
Freeze And Thaw
Water standing in the joints turns to ice and works them apart over a winter. Keep the water out and a freeze has nothing left to lift.
Wind-Driven Rain
Rain does not fall straight down in the open. Wind pushes it sideways, into the slat gaps and under the arms, where it sits and soaks in.
Sun And Greying
Bare timber silvers in UV and the grain lifts. NylonSafe®, our medium-weight 420D fabric, covers home and light commercial use; PVCArmour®, the heavy 1000D, high-exposure and commercial sites.
Damp In The Slats
A slatted seat holds water in every gap. Airflow vents are built into each cover, so moisture escapes instead of sitting against the wood.
Leaves And Sap
Wet leaves pack into the slat gaps and stain the timber long after they are cleared. The drawstring pulls the hem in around the base to keep them out.
Which Shape Do You Need?
Which Shape Do You Need?
Adirondack Chair Covers
The chair on its own. The cover has to be widest across the arms and taper both ways — up over the fanned back, down to the legs. Get that wrong and it either will not pass the arms or it rides up and leaves the base open. Arm span, overall height and depth front to back are what the pattern is cut from.
Adirondack Chair and Ottoman Covers
The chair with its matching ottoman standing in front. A chair-and-ottoman cover is the harder one to make, and the one universal covers get most wrong. A chair and an ottoman are two separate objects with open air between them, so a rectangular cover thrown over both tents across the gap. That tented span is the lowest unsupported point of the whole set, which is exactly where rain collects with nothing underneath to hold it up.

How Is This Adirondack Chair Cover Different?
01
Cut to Your Own Chair
Not off-the-shelf sizes. Your own measurements become the pattern — arm span, height and depth, all of it.
02
Two Waterproof Fabrics
Both are 100% waterproof. NylonSafe® is warranted for 3 years, PVCArmour® for 5 — doubled with the KuvrPlus warranty extension.
03
Fixings That Suit the Site
A drawstring hem as standard. Add tie-downs and fasteners, elasticated corners or snap buckles for exposed spots.
04
HydroLok® Sealed Seams
Stitched and sealed internally so water cannot get through the seam lines, with reinforcement at the high-load points.

Why Buy Once Beats Buying Three Times

How do I choose the right size cover for my Adirondack chair?
You do not choose a size. You send us your chair’s measurements and the cover is cut to them. There is no small, medium or large to pick between. Which measurements you take depends on your shape — the chair on its own, or the chair with its ottoman. The configurator asks for them one at a time. If your chair is an unusual pattern, send photos through our free design service. We will work the sizes out with you before anything is cut.
Will a cover fit my chair if it has wide arms?
Yes, and the arms are usually the reason an off-the-shelf cover does not. An Adirondack chair is at its widest across the arms, about halfway up. Most outdoor furniture is widest at the base, so most covers are cut narrow at the top and wide at the bottom. That shape is upside down for this chair. It catches on the arms going on, then rides up and leaves the legs bare. A cover cut to your own measurements is widest where your chair is widest.
Are Adirondack chair covers waterproof?
Yes. Both fabrics are 100% waterproof, all the way through. NylonSafe® is our medium-weight 420D fabric for home and light commercial use. PVCArmour® is our heavy 1000D fabric for high-exposure and commercial sites. Both use HydroLok® sealed seams — stitched and sealed internally so water cannot get through the seam lines. Fit matters as much as fabric on this chair. The seat slopes down toward the back, so a loose cover collects water at the bottom of that slope. A cover cut to your chair sheds it instead. You can compare both fabrics on our shaped cover fabrics page.
Can I leave my Adirondack chairs outside all winter with a cover on?
Yes. That is what the cover is for. The chairs stay where they are and the cover stays on through the season. Airflow vents are built into every cover, so moisture that gets underneath can escape instead of sitting against the timber. On an exposed site you can add snap buckles, which strap under the chair and hold against winter wind. One honest limit: a cover does not stop a hard freeze reaching the chair. What it stops is the standing water a freeze needs, and no water in the seat means no ice working at the joints.
Will the cover blow off in the wind?
Not if the fixing suits where the chair sits. Adirondack chairs are usually put out in the open — a lawn edge, a deck corner, down by the water. Nothing breaks the wind on any side. That is harder on a cover than a sheltered porch. Every cover has a drawstring through the hem as standard, which pulls it in around the base. For exposed spots you can add elasticated corners, grommet eyelets or snap buckles. Snap buckles give the strongest hold against wind lift. Pairing them with elasticated corners keeps the cover sitting neatly as well. The options are set out on our tie-downs and fasteners page.
Will a cover cause mildew on a wooden Adirondack chair?
Not if air can move under it. Mildew needs damp with nowhere to go, which is what happens under a plastic sheet thrown over a wet chair. Every cover we make has airflow vents built in, positioned to let moisture out rather than hold it against the wood. Two things help from your side. Let the chair dry before you cover it, and take the cover off during a dry spell now and then. A cedar or teak Adirondack left covered will outlast the same chair left bare.
Do you make covers for Polywood and other poly-lumber Adirondack chairs?
Yes. We cover poly-lumber chairs from Polywood and every other maker, alongside cedar, teak, pine and painted timber. The material does not change how the cover is made — your measurements do. Worth knowing: poly-lumber chairs usually run a little wider, with thicker slats, than a wooden chair of the same style. That is exactly why measuring your own chair beats picking a size off a shelf.
What warranty comes with an Adirondack chair cover?
It depends on the fabric. NylonSafe®, our medium-weight 420D fabric, is warranted for 3 years, extending to 5 with the optional KuvrPlus warranty extension. PVCArmour®, our heavy 1000D fabric, is warranted for 5 years, extending to 10 with KuvrPlus. Either way the cover is warranted against fabric degradation, seam failure and manufacturing defects for the full period. Full terms are on our warranty page.
How long does an Adirondack chair cover take to make?
Current lead time is 2–3 weeks from design approval. Every cover is cut to your measurements, so nothing comes off a shelf. We send you the design first. Nothing is cut until you are happy with it. That means the design stage moves at your pace, and the clock starts when you approve it.

Really pleased with our cover! We have an outside grill station that was impossible to find a ready made cover for. John was super helpful with measurements and advice and the zips were a great addition. Extremely tough material that will last for many years. Would thoroughly recommend!
Great product - feels so much better quality than previous covers I have bought and exactly the right size.
Approving of plans and buying the cover was easy with good communications along the way - can't praise highly enough
Words cannot express just how happy we are with the furniture covers. We had a corner sofa and additionally a 3 seater sofa , 2 seater plus 2 chairs ordered and two coffee table covers . The customer service pre-order in the initial planning and design stage was exceptional. On going communication and the prompt delivery coordinated around my furniture arrival dates was prompt and on schedule .
Five Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Great communication checking all the way right specs and measurements etc, free upgrade to zip which was great fully received, the quality is fantastic would highly recommend to anyone
The cover is amazing, just look at how well it fits and how great it looks. The quality is exceptional.
As impressive as the cover is, the service was even better. It was the best customer service experience I've had in a long time. John was absolutely amazing from start to finish. He went well above and beyond what I expected, ensuring everything was perfect. His communication was excellent throughout, he was incredibly responsive, and nothing ever seemed too much trouble. It's rare to find someone so committed to delivering a great outcome and genuinely caring about their customers.
I would give 6 stars if I could. Exceptional service and outstanding professionalism. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend both John and Kuvr to anyone looking for a high-quality cover backed by first-class customer service.
Thank you again, John.
After a lot of internet searching and quotes from various companies I finally found Kuvr.co - They were the first company that actually listened to my requirements and helped me get exactly what I needed ( custom tarpaulin for covering a diy pergola). After discussions and reviews of drawings I then received the order promptly and with agreed sizes and eyelet orientation for my project. Definitely recommended. Thanks
Initially I purchased some plastic sheets from Amazon, put the up and thought 'job done'. The sheets became discoloured, they constantly made a noise as they blew around and in the end they just tore apart. I then decided to do the job properly by looking into professional custom covers. I found Kuvr online and submitted an initial enquiry with some measurements. The whole experience from then on was awesome. I got a swift response and was guided through the selection and measuring process in a simple to follow way. Once their impressive price came back I just answered a few questions for additional details of exactly what I wanted and then approved the detailed drawings which they provided. The covers arrived on time and once I'd put them up The difference was amazing. The Kuvr covers are very clear, strong, excellently made and the days of listening to plastic rustling away in even the slightest breeze have well and truly gone. I will definitely be using this company in the future and have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone.
Purchased these covers to replace some older inferior tarpaulin.
This space over our old decking was created for covid, but provides us with shelter for all kinds of use these days.
Currently a potting area for my wife.!
Kuvr quality and their customer service is amazing. We could not wish for better.
The advice regarding how to get the measurements correct was really worthwhile. The ordering process was easy, and the cover came earlier than predicted. The quality of the cover is excellent and it is a perfect fit
Excellent product, very good customer service. Hassle free ordering and you get sent a draft of the finished item to approve before it’s made. Very quick delivery. All told very pleased and would definitely recommend.
Ordering straightforward. It was reassuring/useful to receive a detailed diagram of the tarpaulin design to ensure this was correct. Good communication during the process. Received the tarpaulin just over a week from ordering which was much faster than promised. Impressed with the quality and value for money. Will use Kuvr again for any more tarpaulins or covers.
First order with Kuvr - the process was super quick, easy and the end product is spot on. Very happy with my purchase and seems great quality. Will using again for sure 👍🏼
Very pleased with customer support. Particularly with checking my measurements and providing diagram of expected cover for my garden furniture. Also the end product was of excellent quality. Would highly recommend.
John and the team at Kuvr have been a pleasure to deal with, very helpful, knowledgeable and great customer service. I have received my custom cover for my rabbit enclosure and I am over the moon. It is exactly what I wanted and more! Very quality pieces. Cannot thank the Kuvr team enough. Thank you all!
Exactly what I wanted, I'm very pleased with the clear screens and the customer support is some of best I ever come across.
The screens were a bit creased when I unpacked them but as soon as they warmed up in the house the creased disappeared. The day I put them up was a bit cold and they were a bit awkward to line up. Luckily the sun came out which made the job went a lot easier. There has been a couple of really windy days since fitting and they stood up to it very well.
After trying a local company, I decided to search the "net" and came across your site.
The dimensions I gave you and the expected cover picture was enought to make my mind up. Your product is I would say 4 times better than my local company. They could not guarantee durability or waterproofing either.
Having got my cover from yourselves I was very pleased with the quality, really strong material and very waterproof. Having it slightly oversize negates the problem of having to struggle fitting it. The old cover that came with the furniture would lift up in even mild winds, not so with this one. Althtough I have 3 bungee cords across it, it shows no sign of movement. To say I am very pleased is an understatement. Thank you.
Really good quality tarpaulin. The dust bag that came with the tarpaulin was an added bonus. Amazing customer service. John took on board all requirements, return messages were prompt. Delivery time was much quicker than expected. Highly professional company would highly recommend and would definitely use again.
