A custom fire pit cover is a made-to-measure waterproof cover built to the exact shape of your pit — diameter or width, bowl profile, and height from base to rim. A fire pit spends most of its life outside and unlit. Weeks between uses. Whole seasons untouched. It sits open-topped in rain, frost and UV, collecting whatever the weather brings.

Some fire pits come from a hardware store. Others are built from stone, cast from concrete, or fabricated to a custom shape. What they share: no standard cover was made with their dimensions in mind.
Standard covers are sized by one or two measurements. A real pit is defined by more — the taper from rim to base, the height of the lip, the gas housing on a propane model. Cut to the widest point with no allowance for the taper, a cover has too much fabric at the base. It sags. It pools. Sized for a flush rim, it sits proud on a raised lip and leaves a gap underneath.
The result fits the category but not the pit. Water collects where it sags; wind finds the gaps at the base. A waterproof fire pit cover has to follow the actual dimensions of your pit, not the nominal size it was sold as.
Fire pit bowls rust from the inside out. Rain settles in the base, sits against the welds and bare steel, and oxidation begins below the waterline where you can't see it. By the time it shows on the exterior, the damage is already structural.
An oversized cover sags across the bowl and turns into a reservoir. Rain collects at the lowest point and sits for weeks, stagnating and saturating the fabric until it works through the seams. The cover meant to protect the pit ends up leaking dirty water into it.
Powder-coated steel blisters and chalks, raw steel oxidises faster in sun, copper patinas unevenly, and cast iron cracks its seasoning. A fire pit left uncovered through summer takes UV damage across every surface — paint, metal and decorative finishes alike. A cover rated for UV blocks it before it reaches the steel.
A loose cover creates a sealed, damp space between the fabric and the pit — no airflow, moisture trapped inside. That environment breeds mould on the interior surface and the underside of the cover. Integrated air vents in Kuvr covers promote circulation so moisture escapes without compromising waterproofing.
An open bowl left between uses is a sheltered cavity, and insects, wasps and rodents find the gap at the base of an oversized cover fast. Nesting material inside a fire pit is a hazard the next time you light it. A cover that seals at the rim leaves nothing to enter through.
Bird fouling etches into powder coat and raw metal; tree sap bonds to steel and leaves permanent marks; leaf tannin discolours whatever it sits on through autumn. A fire pit left uncovered takes this across every upward-facing surface. A cover keeps it off the pit entirely.
Most wood-burning fire pits are round, and a round cover must follow the exact outer diameter — a few centimetres of excess at the rim opens a gap at the base where wind gets under. A round fire pit cover cut to your exact diameter sits flush to the lip all the way round. Common diameters are 30, 36 and 42 inch — but yours probably isn't any of these, and that's exactly the point.
Square steel fire pits are often tapered — wider at the top than the base. A cover sized to the widest point leaves excess that pools and shifts. A square fire pit cover made to your measurements follows the actual top dimension, pulling taut at every corner. Order a standard 36-inch cover for a 34-inch pit and it shifts with every gust; order it for a 38-inch pit and it won't seat at all. The inch or two either side of 'close enough' is where standard covers fail.
Fire tables — a burner in a stone, concrete or steel surround — are almost always rectangular and rarely match standard aspect ratios. Width and depth both matter, so a rectangular fire pit cover is cut to both together. A 60 x 24 table has a completely different profile to a 60 x 36 — same length, entirely different cover. A cover cut to length but not depth leaves two open sides.

Initially I purchased some plastic sheets from Amazon, put the up and thought 'job done'. Exactly what I wanted, I'm very pleased with the clear screens and the customer support is some of best I ever come across. The screens were a bit creased when I unpacked them but as soon as they warmed up in the house the creased disappeared. The day I put them up was a bit cold and they were a bit awkward to line up. Luckily the sun came out which made the job went a lot easier. There has been a couple of really windy days since fitting and they stood up to it very well.

After trying a local company, I decided to search the "net" and came across your site. The dimensions I gave you and the expected cover picture was enought to make my mind up. Your product is I would say 4 times better than my local company. They could not guarantee durability or waterproofing either. Having got my cover from yourselves I was very pleased with the quality, really strong material and very waterproof. Having it slightly oversize negates the problem of having to struggle fitting it. The old cover that came with the furniture would lift up in even mild winds, not so with this one. Althtough I have 3 bungee cords across it, it shows no sign of movement.
