What This Is
A fire pit spends most of its life outside and unlit. Weeks between uses. Whole seasons without being touched. It sits on the patio in the rain, under frost, through months of UV exposure — open-topped and exposed, collecting whatever the weather brings.
A custom fire pit cover is made to the exact shape and dimensions of your pit — the diameter or width, the profile of the bowl, and the height from base to rim. Round, square, rectangular, tapered, hexagonal. We cut to those measurements and nothing else.
Every Kuvr custom fire pit cover is made to order. Your fire pit's dimensions are the pattern. There is no stock size being approximated. If you need a cover for a grill or barbecue rather than a fire pit, see our custom grill covers.

Why Standard Fire Pit Covers Never Quite Fit
Some fire pits come from a hardware store. Others are built to custom sizes, constructed from stone, cast from concrete, or fabricated to a specific shape. What they share: no standard cover was made with their specific dimensions in mind.
Standard fire pit covers are typically sized by one or two measurements. The pit they need to fit is often defined by a whole lot more than that — the taper from rim to base, the height of the lip, the gas housing on a propane model. A cover cut to the widest point with no allowance for the taper has too much fabric at the base. It sags. It pools. A cover sized for a flush rim sits proud on a raised lip and leaves a gap underneath.
The result is a cover that fits the category but not the specific pit. Water collects where it sags. Wind finds the gaps at the base. A waterproof fire pit cover that fits precisely has to follow the actual dimensions of your pit — not just the nominal size it was sold as.
What It Protects
Which Shape Do You Need?

Which Shape Do You Need?
Round Fire Pit Covers
Most wood-burning fire pits are round. The challenge is that a round cover must follow the exact outer diameter — not an approximation. Even a few centimetres of excess fabric at the rim creates a gap at the base where wind gets underneath. A round fire pit cover cut to your exact diameter sits flush to the lip on every side. Common diameters are 30 inch, 36 inch, and 42 inch — but yours may not be any of these, and that's exactly the point.
Square Fire Pit Covers
Square steel fire pits are often tapered — wider at the top than at the base. A standard cover sized to the widest point leaves excess fabric that pools and shifts. A square fire pit cover made to your measurements follows the actual top dimension precisely, pulling taut at every corner with no loose fabric between them. Order a standard 36 inch square cover for a pit that's actually 34 inches across and it shifts with every gust. Order it for a 38 inch pit and it won't seat at all. The inch or two either side of "close enough" is where standard covers fail.
Rectangular Fire Pit Covers
Fire tables — a burner housed in a stone, concrete, or steel surround — are almost always rectangular, and rarely match standard cover aspect ratios. Width and depth both matter. A rectangular fire pit cover is cut to both dimensions together, not one at the expense of the other. A fire table that's 60 x 24 has a completely different profile to one that's 60 x 36 — same length, entirely different cover. Length alone is half the measurement. A cover cut to length but not depth leaves two open sides. For a standalone fire table with its own dedicated cover, see our fire table covers.
What Happens to an Uncovered Fire Pit
A quality outdoor fire pit cover protects against all of the above. Leave your pit without one and a properly fitted cover deteriorates from the first season. Here is what that looks like:
Rust & Corrosion
UV Fade
Water Pooling
Mould & Mildew
Pest Nesting
Surface Staining

How This Fire Pit Cover Is Different
-
01
Cut to Your Fire Pit's Exact Shape
Round, square, rectangular, tapered, or hexagonal. We cut to your actual dimensions — rim diameter, bowl profile, base width. The cover follows the geometry of your specific pit, not a size category it approximately fits into.
-
02
100% Waterproof — Not Shower-Proof
NylonSafe® (a premium waterproof fabric for home and light commercial use) and PVCArmour® (a heavy-duty fabric for high-exposure environments), with HydroLok® sealed seams — stitched and sealed internally so water cannot enter through the seam lines. Rated for year-round outdoor exposure, not occasional rain.
-
03
Stays in Position
A hem cut to your pit's exact perimeter leaves no excess fabric for wind to catch. Integrated drawstrings or straps lock the cover at the base. It stays on in exposed gardens and open patios without weighting or chasing it across the terrace.

04
Made Once. Lasts Years.
Reinforced at every stress point. A heavy duty fire pit cover made to your exact dimensions doesn't need replacing each season. The construction handles the weight of standing water, sustained UV, and years of outdoor use without degrading.
When You Need a Custom Fire Pit Cover
Not everyone needs this. Here is how to tell which side you are on.
This cover is right for you if:
Your fire pit is a permanent fixture — it lives outside through every season and you want it in good condition for years
You've had an oversized cover lift off, sag, or pool water and you want one that actually fits
Your pit is a non-standard dimension, a tapered shape, or a fire table configuration that standard cover sizes can't accommodate cleanly
You don't need this if:
You're happy replacing a cheap cover every year or two
Your fire pit is temporary or you're not invested in its long-term condition
You need something shipped today and fit doesn't matter
