Every Kuvr grill cover is made to order. Nothing is held in stock, adjusted to fit, or averaged across models. Your grill's dimensions are the only dimensions that matter.

Why Do Standard Grill Covers Never Quite Fit?

Standard sizes work on the assumption that your grill is average. Side shelves that fold out. A lid that sits higher than stock. A built-in grill flush with a surround. An offset barrel design. None of these map cleanly to "medium" or "large" on the back of a bag.

A cover that's an inch too wide flaps in the wind. One that's too short exposes the burner controls every time it rains. Too long and you're trapping moisture at the base. Standard BBQ and grill covers make a best guess at your dimensions. We don't.

Why should I get a custom grill cover instead of buying one from a store?
Standard grill covers from Home Depot, Amazon, or Walmart are made in a handful of fixed sizes — and unless your grill happens to match one of those sizes exactly, it won't fit properly. A cover that's too big flaps in the wind, collects water, and doesn't protect the edges. A cover that's too small won't go on at all. A custom grill cover is cut to your grill's exact dimensions, so it fits snugly, covers every surface, and stays put in high winds.
What grill types can you make custom covers for?
We make covers for gas grills, charcoal grills, pellet smokers, ceramic kamado grills, and any other freestanding or cart-style grill. We can also cover built-in grills on an island or outdoor kitchen — though for those, you may want to look at our grill island cover or outdoor kitchen cover products, which are designed for integrated setups.
How are grill covers measured — what do I need to provide?
We need the overall width, depth, and height of your grill including the cart or legs, lid, and any side shelves. If your grill has a side burner that sticks out, include that in the width. Our measuring guide has diagrams for every common grill type — it makes it straightforward.
Will the cover protect against rain, UV, and rust?
Yes. Our covers are made from a 100% waterproof, UV-stabilised outdoor fabric with sealed seams throughout. Read more about our fabrics → Rain cannot get through — and because the cover fits to your grill's exact dimensions, there are no gaps for water to pool or wind to get underneath.
How long will a custom grill cover last?
With normal use and basic care, 5 to 10 years. The fabric is designed for year-round outdoor exposure, not seasonal storage. It handles sun, rain, frost, and coastal conditions without fading, cracking, or losing its waterproofing. Read more about our warranty →
How long should I let my grill cool before putting the cover on?
Wait until the grill is fully cool to the touch — at least one to two hours after your last cook. Our covers are made from durable outdoor fabric, not heat-resistant material. Covering a hot grill traps steam, accelerates rust, and will shorten the life of the cover. When in doubt, wait a little longer.
What if I'm not 100% sure of my dimensions yet?
Start with our free design service. Enter the dimensions you have, request a free design, and you'll see exactly how the cover will look before you commit to anything. You can refine the measurements, adjust the design, and only order when everything looks right.
How long does delivery take for a custom grill cover?
Current lead time is 2–3 weeks from order confirmation and measurement approval. Nothing is held in stock — the cover is cut to the width, depth and height you supply, including the cart, lid and any side shelves or burner. We send a design drawing to approve first, so production begins once you have confirmed the fit is right. Timescales are estimates and can vary depending on how busy we are, so please check with us before ordering.
What warranty comes with a custom grill cover?
Every grill cover carries a warranty as standard — 3 years on NylonSafe® or 5 years on PVCArmour®. Adding the optional KuvrPlus warranty extension when you configure the cover extends those to 5 and 10 years. The warranty covers fabric degradation, seam failure and manufacturing defects.
