Tie-downs hold the cover to your item. Fasteners let it open where it needs to. Which combination suits you comes down to where your cover will live and how often you need to get underneath — here's what each one does, so you can pick with confidence.
Drawstring
Fitted as standardA drawstring runs through the hem of the cover, so it can be pulled tight around the base of your item. It reduces excess fabric, keeps the cover sitting neatly, and makes it quick to fit and remove — best suited to sheltered spots, or furniture you can reach all the way around.
Elasticated corners
Elastic is sewn into the lower edges so the cover grips the corners of your item and holds its shape. The result is a cleaner, more tailored look with no loose fabric around the base — ideal for anything with defined corners, and easy to fit and remove day to day.
Grommet eyelets
Reinforced metal eyelets fitted along the edges of the cover, so it can be tied down with cord, bungee or whatever suits the site. Adjustable, and strong where specific anchor points are needed — particularly useful on irregular shapes, fixed structures and more exposed positions.
Snap buckles
Adjustable straps that fasten underneath the item or around its frame. Snap buckles give the strongest resistance to wind lift and movement, which makes them the right choice for exposed sites and heavier covers.
Snap buckles and elasticated corners
Both together: the holding power of snap buckles with the tailored fit of elasticated corners. The cover sits neatly and stays firmly in place — the combination we'd reach for on an exposed site where appearance still matters.
Zips
Zips create split access points where lifting the whole cover off isn't practical — around posts, rails or fixed features. They're positioned discreetly, so you get quick access where you need it and a close, secure fit when closed.
Velcro
Velcro forms adjustable splits and openings, so sections of the cover can be opened, wrapped around a fixed structure and closed again. More forgiving than a zip where precise alignment is difficult, and quicker to fit and remove.
